Telehealth Sessions

How will I know that telehealth is right for me?

Telehealth (online) sessions can provide the same environment and level of care as in person sessions. They are great for:

  • those who live busy lives and do not have time to drive to and from an office
  • those who live in a rural area with limited local options for therapy
  • those who have a good grasp on technology
  • those who have traumatic experiences that make them uncomfortable in office settings
  • those whose work hours are long so they have to have sessions on lunch breaks
  • those who are caregivers to loved ones and do not have additional help that would allow them to seek in person services
  • those who have difficulty securing reliable transportation to sessions

Is there a such thing as people who would not benefit from telehealth sessions?

Just like a lot of things in life, there are cons to telehealth sessions. They are not a great fit for everyone. Telehealth sessions may not be beneficial for:

  • those who are actively struggling with suicidal ideation or self-harm
  • those who are distracted easily by their environments
  • those who do not have a private place they can go for telehealth sessions
  • those who struggle to make personal connections that are not in person
  • those who do not have access to reliable internet or devices with internet capabilities
  • those who do not have a good grasp of modern technology

Good Faith Estimate

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical and mental health care will cost.

Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services.

You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services.

You can ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service.

If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.

For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises.

Cancellation Policy

Any cancellations/reschedules must be received 24 hours ahead of session unless it's due to illness or emergencies. Late cancellations and no shows are subject to fee equaling full session payment.
